      Another great q from elmo97!

I think I learn best through interaction; if someone speaks to me or shows me something, I can take it in. I can learn from books but I find that a bit more difficult.

I find drawing and writing helps; the more you repeat things, they tend to sink in.

I had some good advice once.
If you think about knowledge in your mind as a filing cabinet (or My Computer!)…

Create folders for different subjects and within those folders, sub-folders. On each page, there’s lots of information, but you can break that down into points.
So, when you’re learning things, you start off with lots of info, but by the end you should be able to start from the points, then rebuild the page, the folder, etc.

Sounds a bit weird, but I think it works!

I made loads of posters at uni for revision. It really helped me to make things visual, with colour; I remembered it better.

      Hi elmo97,

      A slow one!

I’m really bad at memorizing things (my memory’s like a sieve), but I’m good at grasping general concepts and applying them. I also find it easier to learn by experience – doing practical stuff – than just reading.

Hello elmo, does anyone else from sesame street ever get a word in edgeways?

I’m a pretty average learner I think. No photographic memory or anything like that. I suspect I probably do quantity rather than quality in my learning phases. I bet i could learn much more efficiently.

Let’s just say that if learning was a restaurant I’d be ‘all you can eat’ rather than ‘haute cuisine’.

How’s about you? I will be testing you on all the answers we’ve given to your very welcome questions…

Hi elmo97! I’m a bit of a plodder that has to read around the subject a lot before I give my opinion …..but that is probably why I ended up as a scientist!:)
