Question: What is the most interesting/suprising thing you have found out using your own research?

I haven’t had the killer career break through yet (though I am still hoping that this will happen!). For me the most interesting thing that has happened is when we have set up a series of scientific questions or hypotheses, which we are basing on previous evidence from peer reviewed work which has been published in scientific journals as well as our own best guess. When what we predict actually happens to be true i think that is pretty amazing!

However when you don’t get what you predicted that can also be fun as you then want to explore more why your hunch wasn’t correct -a result of the experimental set up or soemthing a lot more subtle?
