      Hi cabbage,

I thought I knew the answer to this, but just in case I upset my ecologist friends by getting it wrong, I thought I had better check by looking it up…

According to the Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary, ecology is a branch of science concerned with the interrelationship between organisms and their environment.

OK, so I knew that, but better to check.

So an ecologist is someone who studies how everything fits together and interacts with everything else in the environment – including humans.

It’s actually a pretty cool thing to be, because it covers so many different areas of science.

      Hey cabbage

Ecologists study ecology; that is, how living things interact with each other in the environment.
Ah, wiki has some more details! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecology

      HI Cabbage

An ecologist is a scientist who wants to know how organisms such as plants, insects, birds interact with their enviornment. Does that help?
