      Hi rebecca,

At last – I thought no-one would ask!

Films – I’ll watch anything from period dramas to sci-fi thrillers. But some of my favorite include:

      The English Patient
      The Shipping News
      Terminator
      Alien
      Sons of Men
      Howard’s End

I’ve also got a soft spot for Johnny English 🙂

Music – I’ll listen to most things, as long as they’re good! Here’s a selection of what I’m listening to at the moment on my iPod:

Arvo Pärt (a wonderful Estonian composer)
      Pink Floyd
      Afro Celt Sound System
      Debussy
Over the Rhine (a Cincinnati band)
      Graham Fitkin
      Peter Gabriel
Tangerine Dream (for when I feel like some trippy 70’s techno-music!)
      Mahler

And of course the wonderful Portico Quartet!

As you can see, I’m not fussy!!

      Rebecca,
I like Dave Matthews Band and the Holdsteadys at the moment but over time I’ve liked loads of music. Mainly guitar-based but ranging from thoughtful, countryish stuff to ridiculous anthemic rock.

I’m not really a film-buff but I really liked Alice in Wonderland in 3D when i saw it. The Scottish accents were hilarious.

Over a longer time-period my favourite films include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Amelie, Fargo and I have a soft spot for Happy Gilmore.

      Hi rebecca,

I already answered the music question here: /siliconj10-zone/2010/06/what-music-describes-you-best

As for films… I prefer action to chick flicks – I really like The Matrix, Gladiator, A Knight’s Tale, other sword/gun-based things! I also love comedy and there are a lot of animated/CGI films I enjoy.
I can’t really pick one absolute favourite film; I like to go to the cinema regularly and watch films with friends!
