      Hi kitty1995,

      Well, I went to uni in 1984, but didn’t finish my PhD until 1992, so I guess that’s 8 years – although two of those years were spent learning how to look after sewage works! But I really felt I was a proper scientist when I started to publish my work – and that started happening a few years later.

      Mostly, I do research rather than teach. I have taught aerosol physics – which is all about how particles in the air move around. And next year, I will be teaching risk analysis – which is all about working out how harmful things are that people use and are exposed to.
