      Hey buzzers,

      Nice chatting earlier 🙂

      Certainly!
I’ve learned that there are a lot of deep-thinking people in some of our schools, that’s always good to know…

All the physics questions have been quite enlightening! As it’s no longer something I keep up with all that much, though am trying to stay with the developments at the LHC/CERN.

Hello buzzers, nice to chat online today. Definitely. I realise that I know very little about physics…! More importantly I’ve noticed that when I think I’m sounding most clever is when most people think I’m being boring and have stopped expressing myself clearly. i’ve also been very impressed with Marianne and Andrewm and their blogging exploits. Previously I thought blogs were for the socially impaired but I’ve enjoyed reading the blogs from people on this site (Marianne and Andrewm in particular)

      Hope that is honest enough.
PS I’ve also learnt that I’d like to avoid being evicted for as long as possible

Yes there are a lot of questions to answer and some of them are a lot trickier than I had expected or even quite bizarre. Good fun though. Have you learnt anything from it?

Hi buzzers (good chat earlier by the way!)

Absolutely! In fact, between you and me, I think this is really a training course for scientists, run by students 🙂

Here’s something I wrote last week about I’m A Scientist that tackles exactly this:

“so far the event hasn’t so much been about scientists educating students, as students training scientists – training them to listen to what’s being asked, and to reply concisely and in terms that the questioner can understand. It’s been a fascinating process to watch. And judging by the speed with which peoples’ style of reply has evolved, it’s been a very successful process!”

Other scientists taking part have said similar things.

I’m finding I’m A Scientist really valuable for helping me listen to people and respond to their questions in ways that they can understand and find helpful. It’s also great for getting me thinking about new things – and incredibly stimulating.

Come to think about it, it’s us who should be giving you the £500 🙂
