• Question: Do you get discriminated against for being a female scientist?

      Hey incy,

      Good chat earlier!

      I haven’t really found that, no.

      I find much more discrimination goes on outside of work. People and events at work rarely offend me.

      Though, biology is actually a female-dominated area now. The higher positions are still mostly men but that time will be over soon!

      Maths, physics and chemistry, however… still relatively few women, and a friend of mine who did chemical engineering at uni, she encountered (and probably still does though I’ll have to ask) quite a bit of sexism!
