Hi jim1,
Ahhh, beans on toast – the perfect comfort food! It’s simple, it’s cheap, and it is a nutritiously complete meal! (Actually the last point might be a myth – I need to check that). This obsession with beans on toast probably comes from growing up in the UK and living in the US – but it’s what we eat as a family when we’re tired and want something comforting and easy!
I should also add that, as a student, I reckoned that you could live on beans on toast very comfortably with very little money… perfect student fare
