    1) passion for your subject
    2) The ability not to get disheartened after a failed grant proposal or paper rejection
    3) Newtorking skills as collaboration is the key to success
    4) ability to write well
    5) ability to inspire others

    Patience
    Confidence
    Common sense
    Ability to think critically
    Curiosity

    I think there are many more!
    You have to be open to new possibilities, prepared for things to go wrong and not take it to heart!

      You don’t have to wear it all the time. You could keep it in a display-case in your office… I’ve been training mine to use a pipette but I keep getting bristles in PCR reactions.
